Now as much as I love Star Wars (original - not that new crap, thanks Lucas!) there is a large part of my childhood heart owned by Indiana Jones. I saw it when I was a very impressionable 9 year old. You know how they say women fall for men like their fathers….mine was forever replaced by Harrison Ford (Sorry Dad!).
So there is a part of me which is ridiculously excited by the thought of a fourth film. Yes Harrison Ford is older than my Dad, yes he is nearly seventy - but the man is still hot. He reminds me in the still here of Humphrey Bogart, Paul Newman, Steve McQueen et al but of course they were in their late 40’s and 50’s when they were looking like that!!
Anyway there is a very cool little video on the site from the first day of filming…Steven Spielberg should maybe think about sending George Lucas home…or just ban him from the set! Bitter Moi? But check it the video here

I knew that Google were desperate for power for their datacenters but this is ridiculous
They have just unveiled the Google Prius it’s converted hybrid gets more than 70mpg - which is bloody impressive. However the difference is that this Google says that by selling electricity back to the grid the cars can ease peak electricity demand – during heatwaves, for example – which is often met by emergency power from some of America’s dirtiest coal-burning power plants.
It’s really nice to see some investment in a useful rewnewable energy. The sooner we get away from oil the better!! Read about it here

I’m a cynical old cow, you know when you work in an office and everyone seems to do a fun run and you get virtually mugged at your desk on a weekly basis for another meaningless charity which know next to nothing about.
Well I now work somewhere where it’s not like that. We started raising money on a quaterly basis when our collegue Elise was diagnosed with Lymphoma, and we’re carrying on that tradition now she’s passed. Elise was a brilliant woman, good friend and wonderful wife and mother, and she was only 36 when she died last month.
So if anyone reading this wants to donate a couple of quid to our latest money drive at http://www.justgiving.com/lovelyelise to help other people affected by this disease I’ll be happy woman - thankyou.

I think I’ve just wet myself…LOL!
I’ve just read on Digital Spy (http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/cult/a61862/spike-from-buffy-heads-to-torchwood.html) that the wonderful James Masters is rumoured to be staring in Torchwood this coming season and is filming in Cardiff next month. ‘Captain Jack’ and ‘Spike’ together ::SIGH:: I hope they do a better job than the last season of Angel where he was totally wasted!

Captain Jack is back and how! How fantastic was Dr Who tonight?!? Russell T Davis has finally pulled his finger out and written a brilliant story arc. There was the humanity (the exchange between Martha and the alien, and Jack and the Dr ) and humour (Jack and everyone) that made the series such a hit in the first place and has been sadly lacking in this series of Dr Who and I’m sad to say Torchwood.
John Barrowman was a joy as the flirty ‘Omnisexual’ Jack, he showed the charm and sexiness that has been lacking in Torchwood’s Captain Jack. If he’d been written like that in Torchwood the series would have been so much better received.
I really wanted to like Torchwood and I did stick with it to the end, but the characters were just lacked any charm and were unlikeable. Yes I know it wasn’t aimed at kids (no shit!) but Gwen was a good character, as was Owen - shame about Ianto and Toshiko who both frankly should have been killed off in the first 4 episodes.
Derek Jacobi was great in ‘Who’ tonight and the transformation into John Simm was just great - I’m so psyched for the next two episodes. I love John Simm as an actor and I can’t wait for him to be evil as ‘The Master’ - Vote Saxon
If only the rest of the series had been as good…..

Now having joined earlier this month, because one of my friends wanted ‘more friends’, I really didn’t see the use for it. But now I’m addicted! The more you add to it and the more friends you get on it the better. It’s the laziest way to keep up with your friends, without having to text or mail - which I rarely have the time to do anymore. It comes to something when it’s a bother to text a mate or god-forbid call them!
But now I can see what they are all up to at a glance - hurrah! The only thing I’d say they could add would be a maiden name search - maybe it’s there but I can’t find it. Once the ‘Friends Reunited’ generation discover it then it will really take off and FR will go under I should imagine. Facebook if free quick and easy and the searching pisses on FR.
Right back to Facebook to catch up with some more old friends..

How have I missed this? I haven’t seen one trailer on the BBC - shame on them!
Anyway there is a new series starting BBC1 Saturday night 9pm, written by Steven Moffatt who wrote Dr Who’s ‘Don’t Blink’ last week. It is of course a new take on the Jekyll and Hyde story starring James Nesbitt (who is always great) and Michelle Ryan (soon to be the Bionic Woman in the US re-make). Just has a look on imdb.com and the rest of the cast looks fanstatic as well - check it here
Just found a trailer here on the BBC Mini-Site not sure about the ‘jerky’ effect - bloody annoying if it’s throughout the series! Still looks suitably scary - will set the Sky+

As I’m ill I thought I’d chill out today and surf - not something I get to do much anymore so expect a ton of posts.
I thought this story was just so sad. I know that the indigenous hunters have every right to hunt etc. But they killed an animal that was about 120 years old and I just think that is tragic. According to the report it’s very unusual to find a whale that old - no wonder at the rate they’ve been wiped out.

Why can’t science sort out hay fever?? I’m at home sick, feeling so ill because of a few bloody plants….I’ve taken a ton of medication and I still can’t breathe, my nose is a constant run and my eyes feel like they are on fire and all I want to do is sleep.
It was worse when I first started back when I was 17 - try doing exams in this state! But my baby girl, now has a runny nose and a constant cough…I’m so worried she’s got it. I don’t want her to have gotten it and have a lifetime’s summer misery
One of the bright side’s of moving to Vancouver would be it’s the only place in the world where i’m not sick in the summer - I think it’s the sea and the mountains.
Stupid plants!
