Gardening..

January 30, 2007

Ooo all the new garden catalogues are coming out. Every year I try and convince myself that I can create a gorgeous, lush, flower filled garden from these evil publications :) I’m always disappointed, weeds, small child and chronic hayfever, means that eventually a few roses and a bit of rosemary manage to survive and that’s about it. This is the garden summer 2005 - it didn’t look that different last year!

However I shall try again this year and steal lots of ideas from Sarah Raven, check her website here

Franglais Union

January 15, 2007

This is the funniest story I have read so far this year. Why on earth did the French Prime Minster at the time think that the French public wouldn’t think that having the Queen as their head of state wouldn’t be a problem? LOL! Even funnier was the reponse of the French politicans now. I wonder how this story was missed for 20 years???

Birthday Planning

January 15, 2007

Did you know that village hall’s have a secret code of how to book them?? You have to know someone, who knows someone, who *might* know someone who has a phone number. So I’ve been using my work contacts to get the numbers for the local village halls and by the end of the week I should be able to book one. However the thought of having 25 small children running around my house, is keeping me focused :)

Lily is currently going through a party catalogue choosing what she wants at her party, it’s a mishmash of princesses, pirates and football at the moment. Her in depth opinions of goody bags has to be heard though, who knew 3 year olds could be so specific!??!

Vancouver the best place to live in the world..

January 2, 2007

I love Vancouver, and I’d live there in a heartbeat but do I have to be told every year that it’s the best place to live in the world??? It just depresses me - I know it’s going to be years before I can go back and visit and I doubt that we’ll ever get to live there now :( Anyway check out the story and if you ever want to live somewhere wonderful you’ll be hard pressed to find somewhere better.
